I'd play anything, but the thought of yet another ictf league makes me a bit nauseous. Many who've played in league matches with strong players in recent years will admit that you have to be a bit of a masochist to enjoy it. After the fresh excitement of sdom, I really don't look forward more of the same.

At the very least, I think you'd have to make some significant map/rule changes for ictf to feel fresh. For these reasons, I prefer the idea of a league for something else: saCTF (again, with map/rule changes), iDOM, even iTDM or something totally different.

something like 8 minute maps/best of 5 might make ictf bearable. 2 points for a map that you win by +2 caps, 1 point for only +1 caps. literally just making it up, so it may not make any practical sense.

In all seriousness, iCTF is a bit broken but it'd still be the most popular league you could run currently. Some salary rule changes (What about a maximum salary for reg matches, i.e. the most you could have in the server is something like $4000?), more captains, less turtle maps, or even unorthodox changes (like kud's suggestion above, making caps worth more points, etc.) could add a new wrinkle.

There are easy ways to create many disposable gmail addresses at once (even online generators etc), so check the emails and take the results with a grain of salt

Why not just make people have to use their accounts from these forums for such a thing? You could set restrictions to make sure people aren't just making dummy accounts by requiring a post count of like say 2-3 that you can verify who the person is.

I think making it susceptible to manipulation at the hand of being so open is not the best way to go about it.
