Hello, wrong maps

Postby whitechocakagod » Sun Nov 09, 2014 6:14 pm

Hello everybody. The maps chosen for my first week of league play were incorrect. I would greatly appreciate a replay if such a thing is possible. If not, I would like this week null and void, as my team's worst map was chosen for us despite me eliminating it 100%.

Did you or any of your team not think to mention this before the games are over? Don't be ridiculous. We hard earnt that victory when the odds were massively stacked against us.

Not to mention everyone clicked in and agree'd.

I did actually mention this to n0b before we played, but he assured me the calculations were correct. After the match, it was found out that they were not.

Also, how the hell was I supposed to know? It's double blind map elim, so I had no idea what your team picked. I was confused because I thought I eliminated it very early on.

I'm told most teams played the correct maps.

Not a clue. I'm not an admin and I'm not in charge of the website.

This is worse than the Ray Rice situation IMO.

honestly if you clicked in its on you. thats how its always been. I noticed an incorrect pick and I immediately notified admins of the mistake and proved it was incorrect.

We eliminated Duku and you won, I'd say they cancel each other out

That's very unfortunate but not really our problem. You're the captain, order him :p

Or, I could just eliminate the map (as a captain).

Duku was around the middle of our list iirc. Honestly, I'm not sure how the elim process works, would be nice to know the algo. But yeah white didn't say anything to anyone on our team and they were hardly bad maps for his team (pryxon duku command). GGs btw

Hello everyone

I would like to announce that it has come to light that yes, there was apparently something wrong with the map elimination. Unfortunately it did not come to light while testing the map elimination system. Upon first inspection nothing seemed wrong, hence matches were played as normal. White did indeed alert the admins before the match, but was (wrongly) told by us that there was nothing wrong with the elimination. Our apologies - we did not discover the problem until later.

We are now looking into how many teams have been affected by this problem and how we are going to solve this.

On behalf of all of the Owned Well staff I would like to sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and promise to keep you updated with new regarding the matter. We will aim to resolve this problem in the fairest way possible, perhaps via means of replays if that is the best option.

We hope for your patience and understanding in dealing with this issue and hope that you remain calm - even if you think this problem may have affected you, your team and the outcome tonight.

Should you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to PM me.

Replays are not the way forward for this case, both had to play a map that was eliminated, both won their respective maps.
Replays have massive consequences regarding individual performance on a set day and not to mention the morale/time issues.
Both teams clicked in, once thats done, its always been counted as both teams accept and continue on.

replays should not be a viable solution, honestly. here are the facts about our match at least:

a) white's team had picked pryxon for elim, played it and lost
b) rj had picked duku for elim, played it and lost
c) command was supposedly the correct tb pick and it was played

therefore i don't see a reason to replay anything -- each team played a map they were at a disadvantage on, lost it, and played the map they wanted in the tb and the outcome was decided.

if the same flow happened for all teams, i don't see an issue. each team probably played a map they didn't want to and that was it. just my thoughts.. i also said something to the effect of how did duku get to be a map choice and we trudged on

It may seem fairest to the loser of the match yes.

Honestly, whether it turned out the system was wrong or not its quite sad how you wish it to be ruled out, would this even have been brought up in this fashion if you had won? I doubt it but you'll no doubt tell me otherwise.

None of the players playing in the games had any issues whilst playing, accept it and move on.

We had no issues because we were told that it wasn't wrong. You're being such a biased moron right now that you're not even worth talking to. Admins can make their decision, but I know I'm right.

If I had won, I'd be willing to replay. I've always done this in the past. I'm the only captain with any integrity, and it always burns me. But I'd rather win fairly then get a nonsense win. I was one of the only people who used to idle if a team dropped a player. If people wanted to resched, I was always willing to do so. All this OMFG MUST WIN BECAUSE THIS IS SO IMPORTANT shit is getting really old. Get over yourself.

Also, Serenity said he 100% will never play defense on pryxon.

rain went to the admins asking the same thing, given the map order on the server was kind of backwards based on the ranking he put forward. Any examples of how the veto works, or show exactly how it worked post match so you can see what teams did ?
