Dear OwnedWellians,
To anyone who has watched Breaking Bad, they will understand the reference of the
fly. The night was Friday and I was editing some videos that I plan on putting up on the YouTubes. Everything was going swimmingly until a fly buzzed past my head and landed on my monitor.
I hate when anything touches my monitor and this includes insects. I wasn't going to splatter it on my 120hz of pure glory so I spooked it and tried to splat it against my wall. Swing and miss. It took off and left me in peace for a solid five minutes. Just as I was starting to get into some rhythm, the fly came back and this time it was doing 360's around my monitor and making itself a real nuisance. Before I could even get a booklet to smack it with, it took off again.
Flash forward 20 minutes and I feel a tingling inside of my ear. I start thinking to myself, surely it can't be the fly? How the hell could it fly into my closed earphone Siberia headset? I was about to check it but right on queue, the fly buzzed right past me and I chalked the tingling up to paranoia. After this, I get in the zone and I'm snipping clips left and right. 20 minutes later, the tingling returns and this time it is stronger than ever.. is there a nerve twitching in my ear? WTF IS GOING ON..
I tilt my head sideways, lift off my headset and hit the right side of my head. I am greeted by the visuals of a sprawling insect falling towards the floor.. THIS:
A FREAKING EARWIG IN MY EAR.. WHAT THE HELL MAN.
Meanwhile people on TeamSpeak hear me freaking out and are wondering what the hell is happening. As my nerves settle and I put my headphones back on, someone jokingly says: what if there is another one?
I take off my headset and start clapping it together and on the fourth clap, ANOTHER EARWIG FALLS OUT OF THE RIGHT HEADPHONE.. In over a decade of using headphones, I have never had this happen before but I had it happen twice in one night.. holy chit.
Final outcome:I got em good.
Moving forward:I make my headset clap every time before I put it on and so should you.. never know what is lurking inside of those headphones.
PS: I'm not scared of insects. I'll pick them up and throw them out of the house but having an earwig crawl up yo ear at unawares is some next level chit.
