Nix & Boots Suggestion/Discussion

May I suggest removing the boots from Nix or at least making it harder to get out with them?
After playing two PUGs with them, they're ridiculous. There's no skill involved and virtually no counter play. Someone can literally jump high, get 150 armour, drop down ON TO the flag, jump instantaneously and be out high. It's horrendous to fight against unless you can hit a double mid air headshot. Anybody can take advantage of that, nevermind some of the good attackers signed up here.
Instead of removing them, maybe give them one jump instead of 3, so you either use it to get in high and get the armour or use it to jump high with the flag after running in low and actually giving the defence an opportunity to kill you before you just jump out of reach...

Here's a demo of a game I played of Nix earlier where one of the attackers consistently grabbed boots and jumped out. It's not fun to play against at all. If you've not seen it or don't know what I'm talking about, you've got a chance to now before you randomly decide I'm over exaggerating.

I've played a couple pugs and have to say I agree. I'm all for making maps more attack based but there has to be some sort of balance and I that boot jump from the flag stand skews it a bit too much in the wrong direction for me

If anything, at least make a ceiling higher in the flag room, so that he can't use them for too easy of an escape

This is very true, the boots are op as fuck. Terrible and basically helpless to deal with as a defender, and really is a skill less way to easily cap.

How many caps have happened without the boots? Seems like it would be very difficult to cap without them. Need an in-between like Serenity mentioned. 1 jump would be interesting to see.

1 Jump would still be enough to do the only important jump - flag stand to high.

Cromaniac's suggestion is probably the best one if it can be edited in time. I don't think the map is impossible to cap without boots by any means though - as factions showed.

lol, you don't need boots to cap on this map. It's a very fast paced and difficult map to defend as is.

I'd say either take them out completely, or Cro's idea would be fine too. The boots would still be useful in mid for grabbing powerups, juking into base etc.. just need to eliminate that grab jump instant disappear with flag lol

Maybe fill in a few of those holes above the flag so an attacker with boots atleast has to walk some distance before being able to jump up high? If that would work i suppose its an easy edit.

Keep the boots, reduce jumps to 1 and/or move them to a location which is difficult to access or a detour.
I could make some extra geometry for a new location.

This will solve the problem of overpowered o, but will also make surprising flagruns possible, since it's a long way from boots to base, and no one expects it to happen.

No, just remove the boots altogether, the map is fine without them.

Also, the second low spawn on pryxon has just made low spawnkilling more ridiculous. Dunno how it was supposed to help, but it had the opposite effect. Can literally stand there and make monster kills if you feel like being useless on O.
