[KOTG.I] KING OF THE GIB (Oct. 5th, 2014)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.. it is with great pleasure that I am here to announce the inaugural OWNEDWELL tournament: KING OF THE GIB.

Most of you already know the rules but for those of you who don’t.. it is a simple concept. The tournament starts with 16 heats of 10 players. The top 5 in each heat advance to the next round until a grand finals where one player will be crowned the champion. The format will be InstaGib Deathmatch and the time limit will be 15mins with no frag limit.

The maplist for iDM tournaments has never stayed the same and this trend will continue in KING OF THE GIB. In honor of the 15th year anniversary of UT99, Deck16 will be the first map but we will also be looking to bring back old custom maps and showcase new custom maps. Maplist discussion will take place over the next week and a set list will be delivered at least two weeks before the tournament.



Only one player can win but this is meant to be both a fun and competitive tournament. Challenge yourself to see how far you can go and if you take a first round exit (along with 79 other people), at least you can feel good about participating and supporting a game that you love.

Aside from the maplist, there will be one big difference in this tournament.. and I mean BIG!



Fatboy will be enabled so if you you think you have what it takes, shake that badonkadonk and strut your stuff..

The event will have professional coverage and mrgrins + m3ss will be keeping up with all of the action. We will be keeping track of stats and have a lot of fun stuff planned for the intermissions..

I think it is a little ironic to start a more professional scene/name and start with a tournament that involves a fatboy mutator lol i find it funny (don't get me wrong i kinda want to join to see how fat sonic the juiced up gorilla can get...)

Tournament is always well populated and has proven to be one of the most successful in the recent scene. Hopefully we won't get untested maps where you die by spawn teletransportation...i do admit i did like one or two maps from the last KOTR

I'm looking forward to seeing the maplist.
