streams admin / streamers question

Postby BeasT » Mon Nov 10, 2014 6:25 am

Hi admins and streamers,

is it possible to stream the games both twitch and youtube? I'm asking this because when i watch twitch streams it appears extremely laggy due to my video card wich is to say the least bad!

So plz also stream on youtube!

Just keep in mind, germans can not view youtube livestreams due to some government laws.
I also tried public proxys but couldn't find any proper ones.

I really do not want to open another thread, but how many streamers does OW have? I heard Nick wanted to stream games so I was thinking if Paco, Nick and MrGrins are the streamers, couldn't we get three streams going at the same time? For example Grins can stream one game, Paco another game and Nick another game. It could be like ESPN or NFL network where the OwnedWell channel can be use to stream all the games at the same time. Does that make any sense? (when i wrote this it made sense in my head but as I was writing it didn't make sense)

coming "soon": Owned well streaming schedule.

but honestly, this community is so small we need to consolidate viewership by any means necessary. If you really want to stream a game to get 10-20 viewers for an hour, cool - do it. But I think the overall mission is (and will always be) to increase numbers; because that is how you gain attention on twitch, youtube, etc. aka more cleavage :OWgrinsgasm: :OWgrinsgasm:

What Carras said. It's more entertaining with the whole community on one twitch channel watching/commenting on the same game and topics. I also find the stream more enjoyable when switching between games anyways.

Plus, the majority of people would watch the m3ss/grins stream with maybe a few stragglers watching others.

Right now the focus is on building up the viewership on the primary Twitch channel, and unfortunately there will be some growing pains with that process. The channel doesn't have transcoding yet and on top of that Twitch has been experiencing strange lag issues lately, so many people's viewing experience will suffer in the short term as a result. We're continuing to explore the mirror option with either YouTube or Hitbox as an alternate streaming location, but that is just a temporary solution for a temporary problem. Once transcoding is available on the channel, we're going to look into expanding coverage to potentially provide multiple streams at once, but as Darkside pointed out, until then we just can't afford to split up the viewership.

As for the stream team, the primary streamers/feeders right now are myself and mrgrins with PACO starting to get involved as well. I know scott is working on getting setup too, but for now with us focusing on the one channel we likely won't add the team just yet. We will definitely be looking to branch out and expand our coverage and content in the near future though, so if you're interested feel free to let us know.
